Introducing the EPMAN 1/4" NPT Female Weld-On Bung - a machined stainless steel threaded boss for building clean, leak-free sensor, drain and fitting ports into tanks, pipes and exhaust systems.
The 1/4" NPT female thread is cut into a solid stainless body rather than formed in thin sheet metal, so a 1/4" NPT male sensor, plug or fitting gets full thread engagement and seals as intended.
A stepped locating shoulder helps center and square the bung in the hole before welding, and the machined flat seating face gives a stable base for TIG welding to stainless parent material.
Supplied as one piece.

A: Female - the thread is inside the body and accepts a 1/4" NPT male sensor, plug, drain valve or fitting.
Q: What material is it made from?
A: Stainless steel, machined, supplied in a natural machined finish.
Q: Can it be welded to thin-wall stainless pipe?
A: It is intended for stainless fabrication. Hole preparation, fit-up and weld procedure are the installer's responsibility; TIG welding with a matching stainless filler is the usual approach. Please confirm your wall thickness is suitable for the application.
Q: Does it come with a plug or sensor?
A: No. The item is the bung only, one piece. Sensor, plug, gasket and sealant are not included.
Q: Can it be used on an aluminium tank?
A: This is a stainless steel part. Stainless and aluminium are not joined by direct fusion welding, so it is not intended for aluminium tanks unless a proven dissimilar-metal joining method is used.
